How fast does a wireless charger charge?

The charging speed of a wireless charger varies depending on a variety of factors, and is generally slower than wired charging. Here are some factors that affect the charging speed of a wireless charger:

 

1. Charger power:
Low-power chargers: Ordinary wireless chargers have a power of around 5W - 10W, which can charge devices more slowly. For example, a 4000mAh mobile phone may take 4 - 5 hours to fully charge using a 5W wireless charger; using a 10W wireless charger will take about 2.5 - 3.5 hours.
High-power chargers: There are some high-power wireless chargers on the market, such as 15W, 20W, and even higher-power products. High-power chargers can significantly increase charging speeds. For example, using a 15W wireless charger to charge the above 4000mAh mobile phone may take 2 - 2.5 hours to fully charge.

 

2. Wireless charging protocols supported by the device:
Qi protocol: This is the most widely used wireless charging standard. If mobile phones and other devices fully support the high-power charging mode of the Qi protocol and are paired with a high-power wireless charger, the charging speed will be faster. However, if the device does not fully support the Qi protocol, or only supports the lower-power Qi charging mode, the charging speed will be limited.
Other private protocols: Some mobile phone manufacturers, such as Apple's MagSafe and Huawei's Super Fast Wireless Charging, have their own private wireless charging protocols. These private protocols can provide faster charging speeds when used with their own brand devices and chargers, but may have poor compatibility with other brands.

 

3. Battery capacity of mobile phones and other devices: The larger the battery capacity, the longer the charging time required. For example, a mobile phone with a 5000mAh battery capacity will take longer to charge when using a wireless charger of the same power than a mobile phone with a 4000mAh battery capacity.

 

4. Heat generation: Heat is generated during wireless charging. When the temperature rises, the charger and device may reduce the charging power to reduce heat, thereby affecting the charging speed. This is especially true when charging for a long time or in a high temperature environment.
