A USB-C cable can be used for audio. USB-C audio interface is a digital audio interface that transmits audio signals through a USB Type-C connector. Many modern smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other devices use USB-C for audio transmission.
There are two ways to send audio data through a USB-C port. One is analog audio, where the device converts the digital audio signal to an analog signal using its onboard DAC and amplifier, and then sends it out through the port to passive headphones or an adapter . The other is digital audio, where the audio signal is sent out in digital form through the USB-C port, and headphones or adapters with their own onboard DAC and amplifier convert the signal to analog for playback.
However, there are some challenges. The lack of standardization means that not all USB-C headphones or dongles will work with all devices. Also, some older devices may require an adapter to use USB-C headphones
